Mr & Mrs Hardy, Batley, Wakefield, West Yorkshire – Loft conversion to facilitate a large bedroom & en-suite bathroom

1 June 2015

Project Requirements:

We helped to create much needed space for the Hardy family by converting the existing loft of their detached pre-war property in Batley, West Yorkshire transforming the space into a large loft bedroom with en-suite bathroom. A patio window and Juliet balcony offer beautiful views across the Thornhill valley.

An open staircase was installed, with a sun tube installed above to bring in additional natural light. The front section of the dormer benefited from two Velux roof lights, allowing light and ventilation into what is now a spacious area.

A new energy efficient boiler was installed in the property to suit the enlarged heating system. And to complete the finish of the loft conversion, the dormer was clad in traditional Rosemary roof tiles to match the existing roofscape.

Project Outcome:

Despite the property being occupied throughout the works, there was minimal disruption. Works progressed at a good rate, finishing on time and on budget

What Mr & Mrs Yate’s said about More Build:

“A light and airy loft conversion gave us much needed space as well as fantastic views over the valley.”
